Question 1

How does dropco work?

Accepted Answer

You drop a file on the page, it uploads straight from your browser to storage, and you get a short link to share. The link stops working when it expires. Every file is scanned for malware before the link activates, and if the scan fails the link stays blocked. Expired files and their records are permanently deleted by an hourly cleanup job.

Question 2

What are the file size and expiry limits on dropco?

Accepted Answer

Without an account you can share files up to 200 MB, with links lasting up to 7 days and at most 3 active links at a time. Free download pages show a small shared via dropco note. Pro costs 6 dollars a month and raises the limit to 5 GB per file and 30 days, with passcodes, download limits and no branding.

Question 3

How do I send a large file without signing up?

Accepted Answer

Open the site, drop the file, choose how long the link should last and copy the link once the upload finishes. The person receiving it opens the link and downloads the file, no account needed on either side. Executable file types such as exe or dmg ask the recipient to tick an acknowledgement box before the download starts.
